Lifting a vehicle is normally associated with large truck modifications. But many smaller vehicles use lift kits for various reasons. The main purpose of a lift kit is to give more clearance under a vehicle. Generally, this height is needed for installation of larger tires and wheels—such as 22-inch wheels or rims.

If you’re upgrading to a 22-inch wheel or larger, normal lift kits require at least a 3 to 5 inch lift, so the combination of the wheel and tire can move comfortably within the wheel well. Each vehicle has different dimensions, so you’ll need to ensure that you get the proper fit.
