Tires and Performance

Here at New Level Motorsports, we want you to get the most out of your vehicle. There are many things you can do to make sure your car is performing at its absolute best. Think about the tires you put on your vehicle. Do you think they make a difference? Of course they do.

It’s all about physics, really. Inertia is the tendency of an object to stay at rest or to keep in motion. Even though your tires are in motion, they still require energy to keep them moving at a constant speed. Rolling resistance, then, is the amount of force required to keep an object—in this case, your tires—rolling at a constant speed. The higher the rolling resistance, the more energy is required to fight the road’s friction. Lower rolling resistance means better gas mileage.

Tire inflation is also something to look at. Lower tire pressure causes increased side wall flexing. Your under-inflated tires can add up to 6% to your fuel consumption. That could translate into an extra gallon of gas with every fill up.

Take everything into account when you’re trying to get the most out of your vehicle. With all of the performance car parts here at New Level Motorsports and a little bit of extra know-how, you can really make your vehicle go the distance!
